How it works

The bot samples voice state at intervals and credits points for minutes present, usually requiring that the member is unmuted and not deafened so that idling in silence does not count. Better implementations also require a minimum number of people in the channel, because rewarding a solo member for sitting in an empty room measures nothing. Anti-AFK curves taper the rate after long unbroken sessions.

When to use it

Use voice rewards in communities whose real activity happens live: gaming squads, watch parties, study rooms, and stream co-hosting. In text-first servers they add noise without signal.

Worked example

Reward voice time in blocks, not per minute: 20 points for a completed 20-minute block, with a 2-block daily cap. Per-minute crediting rewards a member who idles in an empty channel overnight, which is the failure mode every voice reward system hits in its first month. Require at least two people in the channel for the block to count.

Common mistakes

• Crediting deafened or muted members, which converts an empty channel into a farm.
• Setting no minimum-occupancy rule, so two accounts can idle together indefinitely.
• Using the same rate as chat points, which usually makes voice the strictly dominant way to earn.
