How it works

You define a task, the reward, and the window it is open for. The bot watches for completion signals: a message in a channel, minutes spent in voice, a like or retweet on X, or a wallet holding a specific token. When the signal is confirmed the bot credits points and, if you configured one, assigns a role. Unlike an XP system, nothing is awarded for volume; the member either completed the defined action or did not.

When to use it

Use quests when you want members to do something specific, such as testing a build, replying to a launch post, or joining a voice AMA. They are the wrong tool for background activity rewards, which is what a leveling bot handles.

Worked example

A launch week quest set looks like this: three tasks open for 72 hours, 10 points for posting a build report in #feedback, 25 points for a verified retweet, 50 points for a 20-minute voice AMA. A 5,000-member server typically sees 4-8 percent of members complete at least one task, so budget roughly 300 completions and 6,000 points against the pool before you open it.

Common mistakes

• Launching quests with no expiry, so the reward pool drains slowly and nobody feels urgency.
• Rewarding an action the bot cannot verify, which turns the quest into an honour system and invites disputes.
• Setting the point reward so high that one quest devalues every earlier one, breaking the economy you already built.
