SocialFi servers treat attention as the thing being rewarded, so the bot's job is to measure attention credibly. Points accrue from verified social actions and community participation, and are later converted into allocations, allowlist spots, or token distributions. Because the reward has monetary value, the verification and anti-abuse layer matters far more here than in a hobby server; a soft rule becomes an exploit immediately.

When to use it

Use this model when your community's contribution genuinely is distribution and you can afford to pay for it. It is a poor fit for product communities where the valuable behaviour is feedback rather than promotion.

Worked example

SocialFi servers usually run two economies at once: an off-chain point balance for participation and an on-chain reward for milestones. Keep the off-chain side cheap and frequent, 10-25 points per action, and the on-chain side rare, one distribution a month, because every on-chain payout carries gas and a support burden the point ledger does not.

Common mistakes

• Rewarding raw volume, which produces engagement farms rather than advocates.
• Publishing a points-to-token conversion rate before you are certain you can honour it.
• Skipping wallet verification, which makes the whole distribution contestable after the fact.
